Licensing
What you can do
with a WALLS download.
Last updated: July 2026
Every wallpaper on WALLS comes with a Personal Use licence by default. If you want to use a wallpaper commercially, here's what that means and how to request it.
Personal UseIncluded
Default license for every download. Use wallpapers on your own devices — phone, desktop, tablet — for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Allowed
- Set as wallpaper on unlimited personal devices
- Share unmodified downloads with friends for their personal use
Not allowed
- Use in any commercial product, service, or advertising
- Resell, redistribute in bulk, or sublicense
- Remove creator attribution or watermarks
Commercial UseBy Request
Required for any for-profit use — merchandise, marketing materials, app backgrounds, print products, client work, or anything generating revenue.
Allowed
- Use in commercial products and campaigns per the agreed terms
- Terms (exclusivity, duration, territory) set individually with the creator
Not allowed
- Use before a licence is confirmed in writing
- Exceed the scope agreed with the creator
01
Requesting a Commercial Licence
WALLS doesn't yet have an in-app messaging system between users and creators. Until that's built, commercial licensing requests are handled manually:
- Email hello@walls.ovrica.name.ng with the wallpaper's title or URL, how you plan to use it, and where
- We'll connect you with the creator or respond on their behalf within a few business days
- Once terms are agreed, you'll receive written confirmation before you're covered to use the work commercially
Using a wallpaper commercially without a confirmed licence is a breach of our
Terms of Service and may result in a takedown or account suspension.
02
Attribution
Even under a commercial licence, creators retain authorship of their work. Unless explicitly waived in your agreement, we ask that you credit the original creator wherever practical.
